It Makes Sense
This is not a post about Brain Injury directly, but it is a post about health.
To be direct, Please, if you can, get the CoVid Vaccine ASAP. This is not new, but it is from a different source.
The vaccine does work -- it's not perfect, but 90% means that 10 out of a 100 people might still get it, which is a lot better than 100 of 100, and those 10 cases will be less severe. And those are made up approximations of numbers, but I want to show how numbers work. I understand fears about new drugs, but looking at real numbers...99.7% of the new Covid cases are people who have not been vaccinated. That means, with 30,000 new cases a day in the US (and that’s a low estimate), about 90 people have already been vaccinated. Put another way, that’s 29,910 people who have not been vaccinated.
This isn’t political. It’s good health. It’s common sense.
And not everyone has such a privilege.
Currently, I’m stuck in Thailand and trying to get to my job, my wife, my life in China (I work as an ESL teacher), and there is not enough vaccine here for people in my category (a foreigner with good health under 60). I am terrified even to go to do my laundry at a public washing machine because it means I must leave my room. I am desperate for the vaccine, and have been searching for months...ever since it first came out.
This disease has kept me away from my everything, and I know if I get the disease, not only will it cripple me financially, but I will not be able to return to the life I have worked for the past year and a half to return to. Wasted time, wasted resources, wasted hope. People not acting toward good health by wearing a mask and getting vaccinated as soon as possible both stupefies and terrifies me.
This is not political.
This is taking care of the people around you. This is stopping another mutation.
I expect most of those who read this will agree with me, and may have already gotten vaccinated, but if you haven’t, do it. The disease may not kill you, but it has killed millions and will continue to until we get it under control. And life in the States is starting to get back to normal, but there are a lot of people not in the States who long to return to a life they miss, and every unvaccinated person makes that harder to do.
Please, if at all possible, get vaccinated, and I will do the same as soon as I can. It is safe. It is smart. And then we can get back to life.
Again, this is not written out of any political desires, this is written out of a deep fear.
I miss my job.
I miss my life.
Most of all, I miss my wife.
Please do me a favor and get vaccinated. Home is being with my wife. Help me get home.
